Once the Hollywood RollerBowl, a skating rink/bowling alley, the business had a few problems. Primary reason for closing: "operation has resulted in batteries against police officers, assaults with deadly weapons, drunks, robberies, thefts from motor vehicles, disturbing the peace, resulting in numerous arrests for these offenses." "this Board DENIED your 1968 and 1969 renewal applications for Skating Rink police permit at 5612 Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles, effective midnight, October 24, 1969." The Stardust Ballroom opened in 1975 in Hollywood California as owner Orrin Tucker wanted to give the folks a place to dance to big band music, but found to pay the rent he had to book other acts. In a return to it's former turbulent state, it became a mecca for punk rock acts, hosting Black Flag, Samhain, Buzzcocks, Fear, Guns n Roses, and many others. It closed in "82, and became the Napoleon Nightclub. It's now a Home Depot parking lot.
